At the start of your test, you will be asked one 'tell me' question, often whilst walking to the car you'll be using on your driving test.
Whilst driving on your test, you will be asked one 'show me' question, generally on a straight piece of road.
Practicing privately, without the support of our driving instructors, can be extremely beneficial, but we always add a caveat to this... if it's done properly!
