Meet the Team
Your Driving Instructors at Day Tripper Driving Tuition

Adrian

First qualifying as a driving instructor in 2012, Adrian immediately started his own company, Young's Driving Tuition.

Quickly building his customer-base in the Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Lowestoft and surrounding area, he quickly learnt how to tailor his tuition to suit the learner.

Possessing an extensive background in the training and development of staff, he had the right skills and experience to help him become a professional and focused instructor. That's not to say he didn't need to improve himself to ensure his skills were tweaked for the world of driving instruction, so he maintained a healthy balance of work, life, and continued professional development.

One of his proudest moments was when he completed a 'check test' - the DVSA's standard method of ensuring instructors are meeting the required standard - during which he achieved the highest possible score.

After running the business for almost five years, Adrian took a different career path and closed the business after a very successful period.

In 2023, the gravitational pull back toward driving tuition took hold, and Adrian restarted his driving school under the new name of Day Tripper Driving Tuition.

Recognising the industry had changed considerably, Adrian sought professional training, wanting to once again make his business successful, up-to-date, trustworthy, and reliable to its customers.

Re-qualified and eager to rebuild his successful business, Adrian helped his partner, Toni, train to become a driving instructor. Alongside additional professional training, Toni would join Adrian on lessons to observe and learn about the role.

Due to his experience within the industry, Adrian also quickly wanted to build a brand, and grew the business into a franchise, with the commitment to selecting honest, reliable, considerate and skilled driving instructors to grow the business into a family-run business within the Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and surrounding areas.

Adrian's favourite part of the job is conducting mock tests because it fills him with joy to see his pupils bring together all the training they have had, and to drive independently, safely, and legally.

Adrian provides driving lessons in the Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Caister, Belton, Burgh Castle, Bradwell and Hopton areas.

Besides the business, Adrian spends his time writing songs and performing in his band, The Craft, within the local area. He and Toni have three children, and they live in Bradwell, Great Yarmouth.

Toni

Starting her journey to qualifying as a driving instructor in 2023, Toni was initially apprehensive about a completely new career direction.

After some long, anxiety-fuelled chats with Adrian, she soon realised that with her extensive experience in the educational world, she already possessed attributes that would help her develop into a calm, warm, supportive driving instructor.

Flying through the first two tests in the qualification process, Toni delved headfirst into her instructor training, spending extensive amounts of time reading and watching training materials, as well as observing live driving lessons with Adrian.

Wanting to always deliver the best possible training to her pupils, she would reflect on her own performance regularly and seek advice on how to improve.

Toni is often praised for being extremely calm and patient with her pupils, and her favourite part of the job is meeting new people and getting to know them during her time with them on driving lessons.

Toni provides driving lessons in the Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Caister, Belton, Burgh Castle, Bradwell and Hopton areas.

Peter is patient and thoughtful in his approach to teaching learners how to drive, and he strives to get the best out of his pupils in a way that helps them absorb their training in a productive manner.
